Sandbach Striders

The weather couldn’t make its mind up about what it was going to do before the race as we moved from sunglasses to umbrellas back to sunglasses and then umbrellas again but by 09:30 it had settled on calm and cloudy for both races making it near to perfect conditions.

A sunny day, blue skies and not too warm made near perfect running conditions and enhanced a feel good factor about actually being able to do a real race.

With the festive period over, and we're well into the New Years Resolution period, Sandbach Striders are now starting their 2019 Couch to 5K Course.

With the summer holidays coming to their end, but with people still away, it was another quiet week for the members of the Sandbach Striders running club in terms of events

With the summer holidays starting and the kids off school a slightly quieter week for the Sandbach Striders, despite this we had a great turnout at a midweek event, a 50th parkrun, and another race up Snowdon.

From a number of trail races, to the top of the UK's highest mountain, and one of the toughest endurance events, it was a tiring week for the members of the club

From the usual parkruns, marathons and summer triathlons to predictathons in aid of charity, the Striders competed in distances from 5 kilometers to 26.2 miles this week

With June turning to July the members of the club participated in a number of events this week, including a number during the week day evenings

From Iceland to Congleton, top of mountains in Wales, and in the Alps, it was yet another busy week for the members of the Sandbach Striders running club.
